THE PAST CAN’T BE CHANGED
Phil 3:13-14 “Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
** FORGETING THE OLD – “Remember not the former things”. The Believer should accept and acknowledge past experiences as lessons, and don’t let them hold you imprisoned. You can never move forward to empower yourself for any success spiritually and in business by holding on to the past pain. And that is where the devil wants you exactly. That spot, is difficult to let go – it is the “spirit of unforgiving.” You have the power through Christ Jesus to overcome it and that power tool is PRAYER. I am not scaring you off but TRUST me, if you cannot let it go, the devil will never go away from you in anything you try to achieve.
Isaiah 43:18 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.” ** Hope for the future – positive change and new beginning in the Lord is our assurance.
FOCUS ON THE NEW – Focus on the new things God is going to do for you now and in future. As a Christian you have to act with prayers to align yourself with the Lord to embrace the present. The Lord’s presence in your life will help you to make choices that lead to desired outcomes. Your present is your focal point toward your future success not your past realities – discern deeper in the spirit and take greater control over decisions and actions that will empower you to success.
2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
OPINION DOES NOT DEFINE YOUR PAST
Isaiah 43:19- See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Let’s get it straight here. The fact and truth of the Gospel is that God doesn’t retreat nor go back to rewrite history. Once you sin or you encounter problems in your life and you ask for correction, direction and forgiveness from God with repentance, consider it done through his grace and mercy as long as you don’t go back to your vomit.
It will be needless for you to continue to beat your head over the past sin. “Forget the former things” and move from the past to “now” and trust the Lord with faith and hope for the future.
The Lord God is always living in our present and future of our life. Don’t expect God to undo the past. In his rightful place, we trust him to forgive us of our sins and take all of the sufferings that we have experienced, and by his grace and his glory and his love to work everything for good for us. A lot of people give up hope after they fall. Listen, just because you’ve fallen doesn’t signify that you are a FAILURE. NO, get up and put your armor on to fight for what God has provided for you to be restored from the locust.
Don’t play victim mentality for sympathy. Take stock and examine your past challenges as opportunities for growth, and move completely from a victim mentality to control, and build your own authority for independence through Christ Jesus. Christ is our only CONFIDENCE. Hebrews 10:19-22: “Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us… let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith…”
There’s only one way to set you up forward in motion and will roll you forward forever. Your trust, faith and hope in the Lord Jesus. Jesus Christ is the only way. Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. John 14:6.
When time changes, the clock moves on, we have to adjust through the power of Christ with confidence as Hebrews Chapter 10 states. It is the only way we can change it as Christians. But while we are unable to change the past, we have confidence to enter the Holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us, for a new future that can be created from the present for the future. This is the truth and our Faith. Keep your Faith and Hope alive.
